With Melt popping up in every local shopping center, gelato is finally getting the exposure it deserves. For all you aficionados, it's time for you to make a trip to the South Bay to try some excellent frozen delights.
Paciugo in Hermosa Beach always delivers unique flavors, including sweet corn, banoffee (banana/coffee) and chocolate orange. On cooler days, indulge in a hot cup of affogato, which is a heavenly combination of espresso and 2-3 scoops of your favorite gelato. BTW my affogato of choice features hazelnut gelato...best coffee drink ever!
Another location (and my all time favorite) is Glacier Ice Cream and Gelato in Manhattan Beach. Rich, intense flavors make Glacier's gelato stand out from the rest. Cinnamon reminds me of a cinnamon stick, coffee tastes like a strong cup of the good stuff and dark chocolate tastes like a high-quality chocolate bar. Absolutely amazing!
