LA's Exotic Sausages

What do bratwurst, duck and alligator have in common? They are all featured sausage sandwiches at Wurstkuche, Downtown LA's newest restaurant. Located in the Arts District, Wurstkuche has received rave reviews -- and it was time to taste what the fuss was all about.

Between my friends and I, we ordered the following grilled sausage sandwiches: mango jalapeno, green chilies & cilantro, duck & bacon with jalapenos, bratwurst and apricot. Although the jalapenos didn't deliver the kick we expected, everyone (and I really mean everyone) absolutely loved what they ordered. Coupled with excellent Belgian fries (fried in truffle oil) and served with curry ketchup, Thai peanut sauce and other flavors, Wurstkuche brings a new dimension to something as simple as a sausage sandwich.

The restaurant also offers an extensive beer list and unique bottled beverages, including a refreshing cucumber soda and cherry ginger beer.
